He moves with the help of a wheelchair and cannot stand up independently due to lack of strength. His left arm has limited mobility, he can lift it slightly. He can move his legs slightly. Speech is impaired, speech therapy is ongoing. Physiotherapy is provided in the home environment, the physiotherapist comes directly to the house. The gentleman is completely dependent on assistance with dressing, personal hygiene and toileting. Complete care is needed including diaper changes, hygiene and daily nursing care. Deep decubitus ulcers are present, requiring consistent skin care and positioning. Transfer from bed to wheelchair is done using a patient hoist, which is provided with the positioning bed and wheelchair. This is a full assisted transfer, the gentleman tries to co-operate as far as possible. Care includes transferring the wheelchair for short walks. Overnight care is not required.
