The lady is oriented in the home environment and has retained time orientation, but is unable to coordinate appointments and can no longer process new information well. Short-term memory is impaired. She is open, friendly and cooperative with good communication. She moves independently without aids, in the home without the need for an escort, outside the home it is advisable to accompany her due to her dementia. She needs supervision, reminding and partial help with dressing, hygiene and eating. She can prepare and put on her own clothes, but needs to be supervised for suitability and changed regularly. For personal hygiene, she is mostly independent, but needs guidance and help as needed. She manages her own meals, but it is important to motivate her to eat and to ensure that she is getting enough fluid. She manages toileting independently. Medicines are ready and need to be supervised. The caregiver's job includes household management such as shopping, cooking, cleaning and laundry care, as well as helping with errands and accompanying her to medical appointments by arrangement with the family. An important part of caring is companionship, establishing a daily routine and activity (spending time together, going for walks, small trips, for example by bus into town, as well as activities such as painting, crafting, cooking or baking). Night work is not necessary.
