The dementia manifests itself mainly by forgetfulness, without aggression or tendency to run away. The lady moves with a walker, is unsteady and has occasional dizziness, so supervision is required. A wheelchair is used for longer transfers and there are more frequent transfers during the day where assistance (lifting) is required. She needs partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene and toileting. She uses nappies, so changing and supervising hygiene is part of her care. The caregiver provides comprehensive care including meal preparation, shopping (shops are accessible on foot), cleaning and laundry care. Drinking supervision is also an important part of the care. There is a strong emphasis on companionship and activation such as conversation, playing together, accompanied walks and general accompaniment in daily life.
