Both of them move with the help of a walker. The gentleman, 91 years old, 168 cm, 60 kg suffers from incipient dementia, urinary incontinence and has a catheter in place. He has a fall in December 2025, has spinal problems and is in severe pain. In familiar home environment he is oriented, recognises people, time orientation is maintained, outside the home orientation is impaired. Short-term memory is deteriorating, normal daily structure is managed. Speech is intelligible, simple communication is possible and he can express his needs. He moves with a walker, takes only small steps, gets out of bed or out of a chair independently. He is depressed, has difficulty tolerating his condition, and wants to maintain as much independence as possible. She needs partial help with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene and guidance with everyday tasks. He eats independently and needs to be supervised for sufficient fluid intake. He uses the toilet on his own, only needs reminding because of the catheter. Hygiene is mostly done at the sink using a wash basin, both a shower and bath seat are available. The lady, 82 years old, 155 cm, 70 kg, suffers from heart insufficiency and osteoporosis, has a pacemaker. She does not have dementia.Her hearing is age-appropriate, her vision is impaired, she can only see in one eye, but she is used to it and functions independently. She moves with a walker, can stand only briefly and tires quickly due to her heart condition, but gets up independently. The lady is friendly and open, but she also finds it harder to tolerate her condition and wants to maintain her independence. She needs partial help, especially with dressing and undressing, and supervision with activities of daily living. She eats independently as well as uses the toilet and performs personal hygiene. The caregiver also takes care of the running of the household for two people, such as cooking, light cleaning, laundry and routine household chores. Medicines are prepared and the caregiver supervises their regular use. The family arranges doctor's appointments and shopping as agreed. Support with daily routines, companionship, communication, minor assistance with daily living and leisure activities, or short walks if health permits, is important. The home has both a stair lift and a chair to support getting up.
