Caring for an 85-year-old, 86 kg, 179 cm, independent living gentleman who is severely physically impaired and moves independently with small steps. He suffers from dementia and general old age weakness. He had an infection earlier this year in which hydrocephalus was detected and his condition is gradually deteriorating. He is currently hospitalized for dehydration and pneumonia. He has dementia with impaired time and place orientation. He has no other serious illnesses. He requires assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, toileting and incontinence care (he wears incontinence briefs). Needs supervision and assistance in the daily routine, checking and preparing medication and especially emotional support. Care includes housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, cooking and meal preparation. Groceries are available within a 4-minute walk, or family can help with them. Companionship, conversation, activation and walks are important, depending on the current condition. Night work may be exceptionally necessary, about once a night in case of restlessness, disorientation or the need to direct the gentleman and return him to bed. Lifting is not necessary. There is a private bathroom for the nanny.
