Caring for an independent 96-year-old lady, 55 kg, 163 cm, who suffers from general old-age weakness. Recently she has become increasingly confused and does not want to be left alone. The first signs of dementia are appearing, although she has not yet been officially diagnosed. The lady is restless, anxious and sometimes talks to herself, takes medication. Otherwise she is still quite independent. She moves independently without aids and can stand up on her own. She is independent when dressing, but needs partial help with toileting and personal hygiene. The main role of the carer is presence, companionship This is mainly to help with household chores such as cooking, shopping, cleaning and laundry, many of which should be done together with the lady. Walking together, outdoor activities, small jobs in the garden and accompanying her into town are also important. Communication can be more difficult as the lady carer initially refuses. Sometimes she may raise her voice or resist hygiene tasks or other daily activities. The situation depends on the current mood .However, the daughter stays close by and is ready to help and support the carer in her care. Lifting or night care is not necessary.
