Caring for an elderly married couple in a shared home. 92-year-old lady, 50 kg, 150 cm, is wheelchair-bound, but can stand with support and can take a few steps when held. She needs help with transfers, getting up and general mobility. She suffers from urinary incontinence, uses incontinence aids, and defecates on a toilet stool. She is completely dependent on help with personal hygiene and dressing, needs assistance with toileting and food needs to be prepared and cut for her, and she can eat by herself with partial assistance. She sleeps on a reclining bed in the living room. At night she usually serves herself, only exceptionally does she need help to transfer to a toilet chair. A 93-year-old gentleman, 80 kg, 180 cm, moves around the home independently with a walker, also suffers from incontinence and uses incontinence aids, but mostly goes to the toilet alone and only asks for help when needed. He is largely self-sufficient, mainly needs guidance with dressing and hygiene and occasional help with body painting or getting up, depending on his current condition, light hand support is sufficient. He has incipient dementia and sometimes has mood swings which need to be responded to with understanding. Both seniors are oriented in time, space and to persons. The home has two reclining beds, a bathroom hoist and a stair lift. The job includes complete housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and routine shopping, with larger purchases provided by the family and a bakery within walking distance. Lifting is required especially with the senior with her active cooperation, with the senior only occasionally by way of support.
