Care for an 84-year-old independent living lady, 52 kg, 155 cm, diagnosed with moderate dementia and incontinence. The lady is physically mobile and moves independently, but her orientation is fluctuating, alternating better days with periods of significant disorientation. She needs guidance and supervision in daily living. She is incontinent (wears nappies as a precaution) and is still aware of the need for toileting and can communicate it, but requires assistance with the actual act. Her left arm is non-functional due to arthrosis, which limits her independence in some activities. Assistance is needed especially with personal hygiene, dressing and toileting. She eats independently and needs to be motivated to eat and supervised for regularity. The caregiver’s job also includes housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. Shopping is provided by the family who live in the same house (separate household). The environment also includes a garden with chickens. There is also a baby monitor for checking. No night work or lifting is required.
