| Caring for an 86-year-old elderly married couple in a shared home. The gentleman, 70 kg, 170 cm, has dementia, forgets, has poor short-term memory and needs guidance during the day. He cannot be alone for long. He is calm, without aggression. He can see and hear less well, wears glasses. Otherwise he is physically quite fit, moves independently, uses a walker for longer distances. Needs help with hygiene and dressing (more like guidance). He goes to the toilet on his own. Drinking regime needs to be supervised. Companionship and accompaniment on walks is important. The lady, 60 kg, 165 cm, is currently in hospital due to cardiac arrhythmia. She is physically weakened but mentally fine. On her return she will probably need help with hygiene, dressing and housework. She was previously independent, her condition remains to be seen. The caregiver’s job is to manage the household such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, supervising the elderly, assisting in the daily routine, and caring for the lady after returning from the hospital as needed. Night work is not necessary, only exceptionally to check on the gentleman if he is confused. Lifting is not necessary. This is light to moderate care, mainly dementia care and running the home. There is a car with a manual transmission. |
