Caring for an 85-year-old, 87 kg, 183 cm, independent living gentleman who is wheelchair-bound. He suffers from kidney failure and goes on dialysis 3 times a week, has urinary and faecal incontinence (he uses nappies and has a catheter). He is a sepsis survivor, in which his toe was amputated, and he also has one leg amputated. He has had a stroke (2024) and has recently been hospitalized for pneumonia. The gentleman is mentally quite well and oriented. He needs help with hygiene, dressing and toileting. He is cooperative with handling, moderate assistance with transfers is needed. More support is needed during dialysis days, especially when getting up and during the day. Meals are taken independently. The job also includes housekeeping such as cooking, shopping, cleaning and laundry. Shops are accessible on foot. The gentleman enjoys chess and company, communication and spending time together is important. Night work is not necessary. Aids such as wheelchair, toilet chair, reclining bed and shower chair are available. This is moderate to physically demanding care focusing on mobility, incontinence care, assistance with basic tasks and housekeeping.
