Care for an independent living 85 year old gentleman, 75 kg, 170 cm, who moves around the home with the help of a walker, outside he uses a wheelchair. He suffers from rheumatism, incontinence and general old age weakness. He is mentally well, oriented, but physically weak. The gentleman moves only with assistance, supervision and support is needed when walking. A wheelchair dependency is foreseen for the future. Assistance is needed when getting up. He needs partial assistance with dressing, hygiene and toileting. He uses incontinence aids (both pads and nappies) and needs to be accompanied to the toilet and aids changed as needed. The job involves preparing meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, at least one hot meal a day), shopping, cleaning and laundry. Help with daily functioning, companionship and supervision are also important. Night work is not necessary. Lifting is necessary, but the gentleman is cooperative, light assistance is sufficient (e.g. a handshake, assistance with transfer to a wheelchair). This is moderate care, focusing on mobility, assistance with basic tasks, incontinence care and housekeeping.
