Babysitter Düsseldorf

Person being cared for:

Client requirements:

Job Description:

Caring for an 87-year-old gentleman, 73 kg, 175 cm, who suffers from dementia, Parkinson’s and incontinence (he uses incontinence underpants). The dementia is manifested by marked forgetfulness and confusion, without aggressive behaviour. He also has difficulty swallowing, so only accepts a mixed diet. Although the gentleman is still able to move without aids, his gait is very unsteady, with tremors and a high risk of falling, so constant supervision is essential. It is not possible to leave him alone, neither in the home nor outside. There is also a risk of leaving the house. He spends most of the day in bed. Assistance is needed for getting up, walking and transfers. He needs partial help with dressing, personal hygiene, toileting and eating. A carer is required at mealtimes because of the risk of choking. Morning care includes help with getting up, washing, shaving and dressing (approximately between 8:00 – 9:00). The gentleman needs to be accompanied on regular walks, ensuring his safety. There is an increased risk in the home, particularly on the stairs, as the stair lift is hardly used. The householder lives with his wife who does most of the household chores such as shopping, cooking (especially lunches), cleaning and laundry. The carer is mainly there to relieve her of caring for her husband. The housekeeper also helps with the household chores, so she takes over these activities, especially at weekends or when she is absent. She regularly takes care of the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. The daily routine is set up so that breakfast (around 7:00 – 7:30) and dinner (around 17:30) are prepared by the wife. The nanny works mainly in the afternoons (from about 17:00 to 19:00) and on weekends. Night care is needed only occasionally. Light physical assistance (e.g. a handshake) is sufficient for handling.
