Caring for a 69-year-old elderly lady, 49 kg, 167 cm, who suffers from Parkinson’s, dementia and general old age weakness. Depending on her daily form, she gets around with a walker or in a wheelchair. She is unable to function independently and needs constant supervision, companionship and assistance in daily life. She requires assistance with hygiene, dressing, transfers and toileting. Incontinence requires changing of aids, wearing protective underpants at night. The lady needs to be guided, directed and supported as she has cognitive limitations. The caregiver’s duties include complete housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, maintaining order and preparing meals. It is also important to spend time with the lady, have conversations, provide companionship and supervise her safety. Night work is not regular, only when necessary. There is also a partner living in the household who is self-sufficient but needs help with cooking, laundry, ironing and routine cleaning. There is a private floor for the caregiver.
