Caring for a 78-year-old elderly lady, 76 kg, 160 cm, who is fully mobile and moves without aids. She has a diagnosis of dementia/Alzheimer’s and general old age weakness, she is not incontinent.In the home environment the lady is mostly oriented and recognises people from her surroundings, occasional mood swings.The lady needs supervision with hygiene, dressing and bathing, especially getting in and out of the bath or shower. She needs guidance when dressing, but can dress herself. She eats independently, but care must be taken to ensure regularity and sufficient fluid intake. Lunch is delivered, breakfast and dinner are prepared by the Caregiver. The daily routine includes eating together, supervising hygiene, small household chores, shopping as agreed with the family and also spending leisure time together. Walks and simple activities that support the daily structure and keep the lady in touch are appropriate. Night care is required 1 – times per night, the lady needs to be escorted to the toilet and returned to bed. Lifting is not necessary.
