Caring for an 84 year old single lady after breast cancer (tumour). The lady is ambulating with the aid of a walker and accompanied outside the home, in an unassisted home environment, but her walking is unsteady. She is able to stand on her own. She does not wear a removable stocking. She is partially incontinent,wears diapers. She does not suffer from dementia (she is fully oriented temporally, locally and to persons). She maintains active relationships with her family. She may be withdrawn or cautious at first, but once her Caregiver sits her down, she will be approachable again. The lady is almost completely independent, likes to do crosswords, doodle, read, watch TV. She lives in the house with her husband who does not need caregiving, rather to relieve the caregiving from his wife. The caregiver prepares meals (communal dining is required), supervises medication and adequate fluid intake, does the shopping, cleans, does housekeeping and laundry, escorts to doctor’s appointments, and is supportive in activities of daily living, providing companionship and conversation. No night work or lifting is required. A cleaning service comes to the home once a week. The caregiver has 2-3 rooms available.There is a car with an automatic transmission.
