Caring for an independent living 95-year-old lady, 50 kg, 160 cm, who has a fractured femoral neck. Mentally she is fully oriented, without dementia, communicates normally and can say what she needs. She can hear and see well. She moves around with a walker, she needs accompaniment and assistance when walking. She is unstable and at risk of falling. She needs help getting out of bed or out of a chair and walking up stairs. Urinary incontinence is possible, she uses pads. She can hold a chair. Lady needs help with dressing, personal hygiene and toileting. Help is needed mainly with transferring to the toilet, dressing and bathing. There is a bath hoist in the bathroom. The lady tries to cooperate and still manages many things on her own. She is independent at mealtimes and needs to be supervised for drinking and regular meals. Medicines are ready, need to be supervised. Part of the caregiver’s job is housekeeping, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, routine domestic help, companionship and maintaining a daily routine. Smaller shops are accessible on foot, larger purchases are handled by the family together with the Caregiver. Night work is required approximately 2 times per night accompanying the caregiver to the toilet. The family visits the client regularly. Free time by arrangement.
