Caring for an independent living 91-year-old lady, 50 kg, 160 cm. The lady is mentally fine open, friendly and with good mutual chemistry she gets along very well. She moves independently with and without a walker, gets out of bed and out of a chair independently, without the need for lifting or physical carrying. Her hearing and vision are age appropriate. She needs help mainly with personal hygiene, showering and washing her hair, or dressing and undressing, which she manages mostly on her own. She eats independently and needs to be supervised for adequate drinking and regular communal meals. Medication is prepared by another person and administered by the caregiver as needed. The job includes housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, minor shopping, running errands and light work in the garden. Larger weekly shopping is provided by the family. The caregiver provides companionship, help with organising the day, accompanying on walks, to doctors’ appointments and with leisure activities. Presence, communication and social support are particularly important. Night work is not necessary. Free time by arrangement.
