| Caring for a 90-year-old lady, 67 kg, 160 cm, who moves around the house with the help of a cane and uses a walker outside. She suffers from advanced dementia/Alzheimer’s and general old age weakness. She still has bright moments, but forgetfulness and temporal disorientation are emerging. She has had a glass eye for 70-80 years, which does not limit her in any way. The lady is able to take meals independently but needs partial assistance with dressing, hygiene and toilet use. She needs help to sit down when using the toilet, wears incontinence aids that need to be changed, and a toilet chair is available. Assistance is also needed for showering, and a shower chair is available. She needs support when standing and walking. Her medication is prepared by the health service in the morning. The care includes companionship, communication and walks, which are only possible when accompanied. The lady has a difficult nature but can be sociable, so patience is important. The job also involves housekeeping for two people, i.e. cleaning and laundry care; shopping is done by the daughter-in-law, who lives in the house but is busy with work. Night work is not regular, the lady usually sleeps through the night. She is cooperative in handling, light to medium help is needed, for example a handshake when getting up.
