| Caring for an 87-year-old elderly lady, 75 kg, 170 cm with diagnoses of incontinence, heart failure, old age weakness and arthrosis of the knees. The lady moves around the house independently with the help of a walker, she does not have dementia, she is not incontinent.She has impaired vision, she reads with a magnifying glass. She is quite independent in caring for herself – she manages her own meals and toileting. Compression stockings are provided by the nursing service. The caregiver’s tasks include helping with dressing (especially in the evening), support with daily hygiene (showering, washing back and legs, safe entry/exit from the shower), household care (cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping – more is provided by social services), maintaining daily structure, spending time together (playing board games, talking, staying on the balcony), supervising sufficient drinking, support with medication (medication is prepared by the husband), and caring for houseplants. There is also a husband living in the household who needs help 1 times a week with showering, partial assistance with showering, ensuring the running of the household. There is a toilet chair, grab bars in the bathroom and a stair lift. Night work is not required. Large purchases are handled 1 times a week by social services.The Caregiver has her own bathroom and kitchenette in the attic of the house. |
