Care for an independently living 88-year-old gentleman, 166 cm tall, who has vascular dementia, incontinence, and impaired short-term memory. He sometimes confuses names and has difficulty orienting himself in time and outside the home. He needs guidance with daily activities. The gentleman is mobile independently and does not require aids. He has urinary incontinence and uses disposable incontinence briefs. He needs guidance with dressing and reminders to change clothes. He requires partial assistance with personal hygiene. Help with showering is needed as required. Medication intake and adequate fluid intake need to be supervised. It is important to maintain his independence. He should perform activities himself as much as possible, only needing clear instructions and a daily routine. He dislikes being touched without warning. In addition to caring for the gentleman, the caregiver also cooks, shops, cleans, and does laundry. Shops are within walking distance. Family accompanies him to doctor's appointments. Joint walks are suitable. Night duty is not required. Free time by arrangement.
