Care for a self-reliant 86-year-old gentleman, weighing 80 kg and standing 170 cm tall, who moves around the house partially independently. Due to advanced dementia (Alzheimer's), he requires constant supervision. He is forgetful, often disoriented in time, space, and in recognizing people. Occasionally experiences hallucinations, which are well-controlled with medication. He does not exhibit aggression or a tendency to wander. He speaks understandably and is calm, but his statements may not always be truthful; the caregiver should not take them personally. The gentleman suffers from complete incontinence (urine and stool), wears diapers, and requires regular changing of incontinence products. He also has knee problems, which are progressively worsening his mobility. Currently, he is capable of short walks with a walker, but increasingly uses a wheelchair. Assistance is needed with hygiene, dressing and undressing, getting out of bed, accompanying him to the toilet, and bedtime routine (around 9:00 PM). Support is also expected in orienting him within the house, motivating him to drink and eat regularly, providing companionship for simple conversations, playing board games, memory exercises, or walks. Household chores include cooking, laundry, ironing, general cleaning, and shopping (on foot, shop approximately 10 minutes away), without a car or bicycle. The nearest bus stop is a two-minute walk away, and the train station is about a 13-minute walk. A care service visits the household twice a week (including Thursdays), and a cleaning lady visits once a week. The senior's son lives nearby and can assist with medical appointments or other matters. The second son lives in Spain but is available by phone. If necessary, the premises are monitored by cameras solely for safety purposes (e.g., in case of falls). The caregiver must have experience with dementia/Alzheimer's. Night work is not regular but may occur. Lifting assistance is required (within moderate assistance levels). There is also a dog in the household, a small terrier mix, who may or may not be included in walks, as agreed. The caregiver has a private upper floor with a bathroom available.
