Carer Würselen

Care for a 92-year-old gentleman with limited mobility. He is a widower, has very poor hearing, and suffers from severe arthritis and early-stage dementia. He is not an easy person to please. He uses a walking stick for support. A stairlift is available, which he does not use, and he has a walker he also doesn't use. He is independent in self-care, drives, and goes shopping. Occasionally, he needs to be reminded to change into clean clothes. The carer prepares simple meals, cleans, does laundry, and manages the household. The gentleman enjoys meat dishes; breakfasts and dinners are cold. He only needs meals and drinks prepared; he does not require a program or company. A cleaner visits the home once a week. Shops are nearby. A car, a bicycle, and a prepaid shopping card are available. Night duty is not required; the lady usually sleeps through the night. The family often visits to help, handles all organizational matters, and is ready to assist when needed. Free time is by arrangement.
