Carer Aldingen

Care for an 89-year-old, independently living elderly gentleman (155 cm, 70 kg) with a slight mobility impairment (hip replacement). He moves around the house with a walker. The gentleman is oriented, though sometimes forgetful. He communicates clearly but has impaired hearing; he does not have dementia. He is incontinent (wears pads). He eats and uses the toilet independently but requires assistance with hygiene, dressing, and showering (he has a barrier-free shower). He wears compression stockings, which are put on by the nursing service. The carer's duties include household help – cleaning, laundry, shopping, shared meals, and monitoring fluid intake. It is important to maintain a daily routine, accompany the gentleman on walks, up and down stairs, and to doctor's appointments. Night work or heavy lifting is not required. There is also domestic help available in the household. A car with a manual transmission is available.
