Caregiver Altenburg

Care for a 92-year-old lady, 54 kg, 166 cm, who has early-stage dementia. She suffers from dry macular degeneration and very severe vision impairment. She can only recognize outlines and the difference between light and dark. The lady is mobile, uses a walker at home, but prefers to walk without it with assistance. She requires minor help with dressing and personal hygiene as needed. It is important to ensure adequate food and fluid intake. The caregiver is also responsible for cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. Meals need to be prepared and served as required. There is a cat in the household that needs feeding and its litter box cleaned. The lady's son is 64 years old and lives in his own household in the same apartment building. He has a mental disability but is very communicative and likes to help around the house if given direction. For example, he can take out the trash or accompany the caregiver on shopping trips. He manages his household mostly independently, but needs reminders for cleaning and help preparing appropriate clothing for the weather. The caregiver also prepares meals for him. Night duty or heavy lifting is not required. Free time by agreement.
