Care for an elderly married couple living together. The gentleman is 86 years old, weighs 75 kg, is 168 cm tall, and suffers from moderate dementia and mild heart failure. He quickly feels overwhelmed and can react negatively under stress, so a calm, patient, and kind approach is necessary. Care must be provided at his pace. He is mobile, uses a walker and a shower chair. He has a disturbed day-night rhythm and wakes up once a night. Usually, supervision is sufficient, or he can be calmly escorted back to bed. He needs help with hygiene, bathing, dressing, intimate hygiene, toileting, and medication. The lady is 83 years old, weighs 70 kg, is 160 cm tall, and is physically weakened after a fall, has problems with walking, and uses a walker. She is mentally sound, very communicative, and likes to nap during the day. She should not be left alone with her husband without support. She needs partial assistance with hygiene and dressing; she manages toileting independently. She wears incontinence pads or diapers. Medications need to be checked, and their regular intake supported. The job includes complete household management such as cooking, shopping, laundry, cleaning, and general household organization. Shopping is done partly with the family and partly independently. Shops are very close by. The family helps with medication sorting once a week. Night duty is only occasional, mainly when the gentleman is restless at night. Free time by arrangement, including two free afternoons per week. The caregiver has her own bathroom.
