For the gentleman, assistance is needed as required with personal hygiene, using the toilet, and dressing, with the main goal being to support and maintain his independence. Help should be offered sensitively, not imposed. He still manages most activities, such as dressing and using the toilet, predominantly by himself. The caregiver also assists with meal preparation and household maintenance. For the lady, it is important to monitor her safety and prevent falls. She needs help with dressing, household management, accompanying her to doctor's appointments, and shopping. Night shifts and heavy lifting are not required.
