Care for an 82-year-old elderly lady, 75 kg, 178 cm, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, incontinence, osteoporosis, and general senile weakness. Last year she underwent spinal surgery. She is physically active, moves with the help of a walker, but depending on her daily condition, she needs support when sitting down and standing up. Assistance is also needed with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, as well as with toilet visits. Changing pads and diapers is part of incontinence care. Psychologically, the lady is very fit. The caregiver helps with hygiene, accompanies her to the toilet, provides basic care during the day and night, and also performs household chores – cleaning, laundry, cooking and meal preparation, arranging for shopping (a car is available). Alternatively, shopping can be arranged differently. The caregiver is also to keep the patient company and monitor her comfort. Night duty is required 1-2 times per night depending on the daily condition, mainly involving assistance with toilet visits. No physical lifting is required. The household has barrier-free access and a stairlift. Two people live in the household – the patient and her husband (born 1941), who is physically independent but needs reminders for medication and fluid intake. He suffers from mild dementia and forgetfulness. The gentleman is Spanish. A car with automatic transmission is available.
