Care for a self-sufficient 85-year-old gentleman living alone, 68 kg, 170 cm, with dementia. Short-term memory is significantly impaired, he often repeats the same questions and cannot organize appointments independently. He is friendly and open, occasionally he may react irritably and raise his voice, but he calms down quickly after a short period of peace. He has no tendency to leave the house. He primarily walks around the house with a walker, sometimes without it. He needs a helping hand when standing up, depending on his current condition. A stairlift is available. He requires partial assistance with dressing and personal hygiene, especially with moisturizing his skin. Shaving, brushing teeth, eating, and using the toilet he manages independently. A nursing service visits twice a week for showering. The caregiver supervises the intake of prepared medications and ensures adequate fluid intake, and puts on compression stockings. Nighttime assistance is not required. The caregiver also handles cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, assistance with daily activities, maintaining a daily routine, and companionship. The family arranges doctor's visits and leisure activities. The gentleman smokes; a designated smoking room is available in the house. Separate living quarters are available for the caregiver with a private entrance, a small terrace, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet. A car with automatic transmission is available. Free time by arrangement.
