Care for a 66-year-old gentleman, 67 kg, 163 cm, who is bedridden but mentally completely fine. He speaks only English. He has a urinary catheter and a PEG tube, which is currently not in use and is intended for potential need. He had a tracheostomy, which has since been removed. The opening on his neck is not yet healed, and the care service is attending to its treatment. The gentleman is entirely dependent on assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. He uses diapers and a urinary catheter. The caregiver changes diapers and empties the catheter bag. He can feed himself. Transferring from bed to wheelchair is done with a hoist, with which the gentleman cooperates. A patient hoist and a barrier-free bathroom are available. The caregiver also ensures meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and household management. The family can also assist with shopping. The gentleman sleeps at night, and night duty is not required. Free time by arrangement.
