Care for a 97-year-old lady living alone, 150 cm tall, 50 kg, with limited mobility for short distances only and mobile within the home with the aid of a walker. She no longer goes outside and does not use stairs. Assistance is needed when getting up, or she uses a chair. Mentally, she is fine – she does not have dementia. She speaks understandably, but with a dialect. She is not incontinent but wears diapers preventatively, which she changes herself. The lady needs help with dressing and personal hygiene (showering, washing hair). She eats independently, sharing meals with the caregiver. Ensure she drinks enough fluids. She takes her medication herself; it is prepared by the pharmacy. A doctor visits her at home. The caregiver also assists with cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. The caregiver should ensure a daily routine, perform minor tasks, facilitate walks around the apartment, engage in simple conversations, and provide companionship. The lady enjoys watching television, listening to the radio, or resting in her armchair. Night duty is usually required once per night, but this is not frequent. Lifting is not necessary. The lady is cautious at first, but once she gets comfortable with the caregiver, they understand each other well. Shops are within a 20-minute walking distance.
