Care for an 82-year-old gentleman, 75 kg, 180 cm, who is bedridden. He suffers from dementia, which manifests as disorientation in time and space, but he mostly recognizes people. He is calm, friendly, and cooperative. He has high blood pressure, urinary and fecal incontinence, and wears diapers. He is also allergic to hazelnuts. The gentleman is completely dependent on assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, changing incontinence products, and toileting. He requires partial assistance with meals. He spends most of his time in bed; regular repositioning, diaper changes, and mobilization to the edge of the bed or into a wheelchair, depending on his current health status, are necessary. The caregiver's assistance is required for transfers, although the gentleman can cooperate partially. Full transfer using assistive devices is ensured in the household. A home care service visits twice a day. The caregiver's responsibilities include ensuring the gentleman's daily care, administering medication, preparing meals, doing groceries, maintaining the household, doing laundry, and providing companionship. Cleaning is handled by a cleaning service. The gentleman's 83-year-old wife, who is independent, also lives in the household, but the caregiver helps her mainly with cooking, medication administration, and general household chores.
