He moves in a wheelchair but can stand up independently and get into and out of bed. Lifting is not required. He needs partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting, or minor help with eating. He uses diapers and a urinal bottle at night. The caregiver is also responsible for cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. Shops are about 800 m away, and a bicycle is available. A wheelchair, stairlift, bath lift, and an adjustable bed in the living room are available. His wife also lives in the household and does not require care. The caregiver is to relieve her of household chores and care for her husband. Night assistance is needed 1-2 times per night, mainly for toileting and providing the urinal bottle. A private bathroom is available for the caregiver. Free time is by arrangement.
