Caregiver Dormagen

Care for an 86-year-old elderly lady, 65 kg, 160 cm, who has advanced dementia, significant forgetfulness, and severely limited speech. Conversation is no longer possible. She has diabetes, incontinence, uses diapers, and is at increased risk of falls. She is currently hospitalized after a mild stroke and high blood pressure, and is gradually recovering. The lady has significantly limited mobility, sitting on the couch or lying in bed most of the time. She needs a walker and assistance with transfers between the bed and the couch, including partial lifting, during which she can cooperate. She needs help with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, and general basic care. Night assistance is needed twice per night; the lady wants to get up and go to the toilet, although she uses diapers. The caregiver provides complete household care, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. The husband also lives in the household; he does not require care, only meal preparation. In mid-November, she is scheduled for hip replacement surgery and subsequent rehabilitation, for approximately 4 weeks in total. Free time by agreement.
