Care for an 87-year-old gentleman, 100 kg, 180 cm, who suffers from urinary and fecal incontinence (uses incontinence aids), has a heart condition, organ damage, and swelling of the lower extremities. Nursing service regularly bandages his legs. The gentleman is fully oriented in time, space, and to people. He communicates understandably, speaks with a dialect, and can clearly state his needs. He has impaired hearing, so it is necessary to speak louder and more distinctly. His eyesight is weakened in one eye. He moves around the house with a walking stick; his gait is unsteady, and he requires assistance when moving. He no longer goes outside and cannot manage stairs. He needs assistance when getting up from bed or a chair, depending on his current health status. He requires partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and showering. He eats independently but needs supervision to ensure adequate fluid intake. He needs assistance with transfers, hygiene, dressing, and changing incontinence aids when using the toilet. The caregiver also oversees the regular intake of medications. The scope of work also includes meal preparation, shopping, laundry, general household chores, running small errands, companionship, and maintaining a daily routine. Medical appointments are arranged by the family. His wife also lives in the household; she is independent and does not require care. The caregiver assists her with household management and takes over some of the husband's care so she can rest. Night work is required approximately 2-3 times per night, mainly for escorting to the toilet. Night shifts are alternated with the wife. Free time is by agreement.
