The caregiver is responsible for changing incontinence aids. The senior is not currently bedridden, but his condition may change depending on future developments. He moves with the help of a walker or a cane. He requires support when walking, standing, using stairs, showering, and dressing. Regular lifting is not expected at this time, but he may require physical assistance with transfers depending on his current health status. During his hospital stay and rehabilitation, he experienced disrupted day-and-night routines and inner restlessness. Night work is not regular. The gentleman requires daily assistance with personal and intimate hygiene, dressing, meal intake, using the toilet, and managing incontinence aids. The caregiver should remind him to take medication, ensure adequate fluid intake, and accompany him to doctor's appointments as needed. He also needs support with walking and movement to encourage the use of his walker and prevent falls. The senior enjoys watching television, listening to music, sports broadcasts, reading newspapers, and, depending on his health, going for walks. He can participate to a lesser extent in household activities, such as meal preparation or baking. The family wishes for him to be regularly encouraged and motivated to read, drink fluids, and engage in appropriate movement. The 88-year-old lady, 160 cm tall and weighing 60 kg, is mobile and moves independently, using a walker or cane as needed. She has significantly impaired vision and partially impaired hearing. Due to her poor eyesight, she requires assistance mainly with operating the washing machine and dishwasher, or with cooking and other tasks where she cannot safely read displays or operate appliances. Otherwise, she is largely independent in the household. She requires support when showering, but generally manages dressing herself. She should only receive assistance with personal hygiene and other tasks when she needs it or requests it. It is important not to take over activities she can still perform independently. The caregiver should remind her to take medication as needed and assist with intimate hygiene. The lady prefers a calm environment and dislikes excessive intrusion into her privacy. In a crisis situation, communication should be calm, patient, and relaxed; otherwise, her daughter should be called. She enjoys music, especially popular tunes, television, and programs or books about the Pope. She likes watering plants. She is friendly and even-tempered. The caregiver should respect her independence and assist only where help is truly necessary. Night care is not regularly required, though she may occasionally need help with nighttime toilet visits. The caregiver's responsibilities also include assisting with cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, shopping, and general household management. There is already other external help in the household. The family lives very close by, visits the couple regularly, and helps as needed. Shopping facilities are approximately one kilometer away. A adjustable bed, a toilet chair, and a shower chair are available. Free time is by arrangement.
