One week involves working from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The following week is a night shift until 6:00 AM. Tasks include personal hygiene, dressing, accompanying seniors during walks and to the toilet, assisting with getting up, administering meals, insulin, and medication, measuring blood sugar, and putting on compression stockings. Shopping and cooking are handled by support staff. The caregiver has a private room with a private bathroom, with opportunities for rest, typically from 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM. Time off after shifts and on weekends is by arrangement.
