Care for an independently living 86-year-old gentleman, 80 kg, 170 cm, who moves around the house partially independently but requires constant supervision due to advanced dementia (Alzheimer's). He is forgetful, often disoriented in time, space, and in recognizing people. He sometimes experiences hallucinations, which are well-controlled with medication. He does not exhibit aggression or a tendency to wander. He speaks understandably and is calm, but his statements may not always be truthful; the caregiver should not take them personally. The gentleman suffers from complete incontinence (both urinary and fecal), wears diapers, and requires regular changing of incontinence products. He also has knee problems, which are gradually worsening his mobility. Currently, he is capable of short walks with the aid of a walker, but increasingly uses a wheelchair. Assistance is needed with hygiene, dressing and undressing, getting out of bed, accompanying to the toilet, and bedtime (around 9:00 PM). Support with orientation around the house, motivation for regular drinking and eating, companionship during simple conversations, board games, memory exercises, or walks is also expected. Household chores include cooking, laundry, ironing, general cleaning, and grocery shopping (on foot, shop approx. 10 minutes away), without a car or bicycle. The nearest bus stop is two minutes away on foot, and the train station is about 13 minutes away. A care service visits the household twice a week (including Thursdays), and a cleaning service visits once a week. The gentleman's son lives nearby and can assist with medical appointments or other matters. The other son lives in Spain but is available by phone. If necessary, the premises are monitored by cameras solely for safety purposes (e.g., in case of falls). The caregiver must have experience with dementia/Alzheimer's. Night work is not regular but may occur. Lifting is required (within moderate assistance). There is also a dog in the household, a small terrier mix, who may or may not be part of walks, as agreed. The caregiver has a private upper floor with a bathroom available.
