Care for an independently living 79-year-old lady, 160 cm tall, 75 kg, with a rheumatic condition. The lady is bedridden, incontinent, and has significantly limited mobility. She requires complete assistance with getting up, sitting down, walking, transfers, repositioning in bed, and using a wheelchair. She needs to be lifted, and she can cooperate. A reclining bed, wheelchair, and hoist are available. She is at risk of falling. She has both urinary and fecal incontinence. She uses incontinence aids, which are changed by the caregiver. She needs assistance with personal and intimate hygiene and with dressing. Ensuring adequate fluid intake is important. A nursing service visits several times a day and manages medication administration, putting on and taking off compression stockings, and treating a skin condition. Direct communication and activation are important. The lady enjoys watching television. Night duty is not required; if needed, she can call the caregiver by voice. Family or friends visit her daily. The caregiver cooks, cleans, does laundry, irons, shops, and takes care of the plants. A car and bicycle are available. Free time by arrangement.
