Care for an elderly married couple in their shared household. Both are 87 years old. The gentleman, 72 kg, 175 cm, has early-stage dementia, cardiovascular disease, and urinary incontinence. He is oriented at home, recognizes familiar people, speaks little and quietly, and has hearing difficulties, so it is necessary to speak clearly and face him. He moves around the house without aids but needs companionship and support. He uses a wheelchair outdoors. He requires assistance when getting up from bed or a low chair, and needs to be accompanied on stairs. He requires full assistance with dressing, hygiene, and toileting. He needs partial assistance with meals; food needs to be cut, and sufficient fluids must be ensured. He needs motivation to eat. He wears diapers, and their use, especially at night, needs to be supervised. He also needs to be supervised taking his prepared medications. Simple mobilization exercises and walking around the apartment are beneficial. The gentleman sleeps a lot. The lady, 65 kg, 168 cm, has progressive dementia, nocturnal urinary incontinence, and rheumatism with pain, for which she takes medication. Her short-term memory is weakened, she often repeats herself and asks the same questions. She is friendly, open, and can express her needs. She walks and gets up independently without aids. She needs reminders and minor assistance with dressing. She eats by herself. She needs assistance with toileting, especially with hygiene. She mostly manages her personal hygiene but needs reminders to shower and verification that she has actually showered. She takes her medications as scheduled; another person prepares them. She enjoys short walks and also sleeps a lot. The caregiver is also responsible for cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, general errands, structuring the day, providing companionship, and accompanying to doctor's appointments. Light garden care is optional; a gardener is in charge of the garden. In winter, snow needs to be cleared from the approximately 4-meter path to the house as needed. Night work is not required. There is a car with an automatic transmission available; the caregiver has a private bathroom. Free time is negotiable.
