He can no longer walk independently and uses a wheelchair; his condition fluctuates, and he is sometimes completely immobile. He has early-stage dementia but is not aggressive. The gentleman is entirely dependent on assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. He requires support with daily care, hygiene, and transfers. He can partially cooperate when transferring to a wheelchair, briefly leaning and assisting himself, but cannot stand for long. Moderate assistance is required for lifting and transfers. The caregiver's duties also include help with shopping, cleaning, laundry, and other general household chores. An important aspect of the role is to provide relief for the wife, who has been caring for her husband, manages the household, and prepares meals. Night care is required 1-2 times per night as needed. Time off by agreement.
