Care for a 72-year-old elderly lady, 54 kg, 165 cm, who has suffered from multiple sclerosis for 40 years. The disease primarily affects the lower extremities, manifesting as spasticity and stiffness in the legs. Despite this, she is very active and sport-oriented. Mentally, she is fully oriented and independent. She moves using a wheelchair. She requires assistance with transfers from bed, and the household is equipped with transfer boards, a ceiling hoist, and a shower chair. Transfers are necessary, but the aids significantly facilitate handling. She manages toileting independently and requires only minimal support and guidance for personal hygiene. She showers herself every morning; assistance is primarily needed for getting out of bed and for dressing and undressing trousers. The lady is very active, undergoing physiotherapy at home 4 times a week and engaging in approximately two hours of personal exercise daily. She still drives a modified motor vehicle and handles her own shopping. The scope of work includes primarily morning assistance with rising, transfers, dressing, support with personal hygiene as needed, and household management, including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry. The lady lives in a shared household with her husband, who is completely independent and requires no assistance. This is a physically less demanding caregiving role, with the main focus on assisting with mobility and transfers and supporting daily activities. Night work is not required. Free time by agreement. A small 2-room apartment is available for the caregiver.
