Carer Dieburg

Care for an independently living 87-year-old lady, 45 kg, 150 cm, who moves with the help of a walker and is mobility-impaired after a femoral fracture due to a fall in the summer. She suffers from mild dementia, is forgetful, but oriented in space and towards people. She has macular degeneration and is almost blind. Many activities she can still manage independently, but she needs support with showering, dressing and undressing, and supervision for medication intake. She uses the toilet independently. Partial assistance is required for hygiene and dressing. For longer distances, she uses a wheelchair; a toilet and shower chair are also available. The family cares about the carer being present, available, providing companionship, and involving the lady in the daily routine. The lady enjoys walks, singing, baking, in the past she enjoyed crafting, and regularly attends a dementia group and church services. Household management, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry, is also part of the job. Groceries can be purchased by the family as needed; shops are within walking distance and a bicycle is available. Lifting is not required. Occasional night work. At night, the senior mostly goes to the toilet chair by herself. The carer has a private bathroom.
