Care for an 84-year-old gentleman, 76 kg, 167 cm, who walks with the aid of a walker or cane. He suffers from Parkinson's and early dementia, has a pacemaker, stents, is allergic to nuts (especially peanuts), and has hay fever. His short-term memory is impaired. His hearing is reduced, and he uses hearing aids. He is friendly, open, and cooperative. He moves slowly, his gait is unsteady (typical for Parkinson's), but he manages it independently. He can get up without assistance. He needs daily motivation for movement. He is not incontinent and manages the toilet by himself. He needs more guidance with dressing and partial assistance with hygiene. The bathroom is barrier-free with a shower and a chair. He eats independently; fluid intake and meal regularity need to be monitored. He prepares his own medication, but its intake needs to be checked. Household tasks include cooking, shopping, and laundry. Cleaning is provided by a cleaning service. Shops are accessible. The gentleman needs to be accompanied to the doctor by appointment; the caregiver handles simple appointments, and the family handles specialist appointments. Companionship, communication, and a daily routine are important. The gentleman enjoys reading and going on outings. His wife also lives in the household but is currently in rehabilitation. She may become a second care recipient later; her condition is not yet known. Night work is not required. A car (hybrid) is available.
