Caregiver Goldkronach

Care for an 80-year-old gentleman, 115 kg, 180 cm, with dementia/Alzheimer's, mild Parkinson's disease, and urinary and fecal incontinence. He is very kind and friendly, rather reserved, speaks little and slowly. Short-term memory is impaired, orientation in time, space, and persons is only partially preserved. The gentleman moves with a walker, but needs assistance and support when standing up and sitting down. He cooperates during transfers, and light physical assistance is sufficient. A wheelchair, a commode chair, and a standing aid are available. He requires full assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. He uses incontinence products. He eats independently. The caregiver should perform mobility exercises with the gentleman and provide the necessary care. Good cooking is very important; fresh and varied meals should be prepared daily according to the couple's wishes. The caregiver also assists with the general running of the household. Care is divided approximately between 8:30–11:00 AM and 2:00–4:00 PM. Mornings involve breakfast, hygiene, and household chores; afternoons involve preparing lunch, eating, and toileting. The gentleman usually sleeps after lunch, and his wife is not home. The couple does not eat dinner, and they go to bed around 8:00–9:00 PM. Night duty is not required. The household also includes his 71-year-old wife, who is fit, mobile, and still drives. She does not require caregiving assistance, but the caregiver manages the household and cooking for her as well. Private accommodation with a bathroom and kitchen is available for the caregiver. Free time by arrangement.
