Care for an elderly married couple. A 92-year-old gentleman, 80 kg, 175 cm, has senile dementia and is hard of hearing. He is forgetful, his short-term memory is deteriorating, and he needs guidance with daily activities. He has difficulty sequencing tasks when using household appliances. He moves independently without aids. He requires partial assistance with hygiene and, as needed, with dressing. Supervision of medication intake is necessary. Night duty for the gentleman is not required. A 91-year-old lady, 62 kg, 156 cm, has urinary incontinence and uses pads. She is unsteady when walking and requires assistance when getting up. She has macular degeneration and has poor eyesight and hearing. Her hands are swollen, causing her difficulty grasping objects; her legs occasionally swell as well. She has psoriasis on her legs. She requires partial assistance with dressing, hygiene, and toileting. Food needs to be cut into small pieces, after which she eats independently. At night, she requires assistance 1-2 times for toileting; a commode chair is available. The caregiver is also responsible for cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, general household management, daily routines, and companionship. Free time is by agreement.
