Care for an elderly married couple in their shared home. The 71-year-old lady, 167 cm tall, weighing 64 kg, is currently receiving partial inpatient medical care. She suffers from dementia, Parkinson's disease, high blood pressure, and has a history of stroke. She is partially incontinent, using incontinence products mainly at night, and her speech center is affected. Her mobility is largely preserved; she can get into and out of bed independently, stands, walks, and transfers on her own, and does not require lifting. She is disoriented in time and sometimes unaware of the day. It is important to communicate with her directly, encourage her, and keep her active. In her free time, she enjoys walks, reading, watching television, and playing board games. She does not yet require assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, or toileting. The 73-year-old gentleman, 180 cm tall, weighing 82 kg, suffers from the effects of multiple strokes, heart disease, and cancer. In the past, during resuscitation, he experienced prolonged oxygen deprivation to the brain and has significant short-term memory deficits and cognitive impairments. He is fully mobile, gets out of bed independently, sits, stands, walks, and transfers on his own; he is not incontinent. In his free time, he enjoys walks, listening to music, reading, watching television, and playing board games. The caregiver reminds both seniors to take their medication. Nighttime care is not required. Starting August 4, 2026, the gentleman will undergo three major surgeries under general anesthesia over two weeks. A minimum two-week hospitalization is expected. Depending on the course of the surgeries and recovery, he may temporarily require assistance with dressing after returning home. Their daughter also lives in the household and is mostly at work during the week for approximately 50-60 hours. Another daughter visits the family regularly, and both daughters help organize the care. Relatives visit approximately once a week. The caregiver's duties include cooking, general housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and accompanying them on shopping trips; shops are also within walking distance. Every Tuesday, both attend a day care center from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM, where they are transported by a special service. Free time is arranged by agreement.
