Care for an elderly married couple in their shared home. Both suffer from early-stage dementia with weakened short-term memory. They know each other's names, can navigate their home environment, and their temporal orientation is still intact, but coordinating appointments is no longer possible. Communication is understandable; it's good with the wife, and slightly limited with the husband. 86-year-old wife, 45 kg, 150 cm, has hearing difficulties, so it's necessary to speak clearly and loudly. She suffers from heartburn; regular medication intake is important. 89-year-old husband, 50 kg, 168 cm, has heart disease (heart failure, IHD), wears compression stockings which are applied by the outpatient service. Both seniors are mobile at home without aids and get up independently. The husband only goes out accompanied. The wife is largely self-sufficient, dresses herself, eats, uses the toilet, and performs her hygiene independently. It is necessary to monitor her fluid intake and prepare meals (she prefers soft foods, sweet dishes, and mashed potatoes). The husband requires partial assistance with dressing and hygiene; his clothes need to be prepared and regular changes supervised. During meals, his food needs to be cut into small pieces, and his drinking monitored; otherwise, he eats independently. Showering once a week is managed by the son. Medication for both is administered by the outpatient service. The caregiver's duties also include household management such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, small errands, accompanying them to appointments as agreed with the family, maintaining a daily routine, providing companionship, and conversation. The seniors are friendly and open, enjoying contact with family and friends. It is important to involve them in daily activities. Nighttime care is not required.
