Caregiver Oberweis

Care for an 84-year-old lady, 150 cm and 45 kg, with Parkinson's disease and mobility limitations. Mentally, she is fine, but experiences occasional depression. The lady has had her left leg amputated for years, uses a wheelchair, and is at risk of falling. She is incontinent of urine and has impaired hearing. Assistance is needed with transfers from the wheelchair; the lady can cooperate partially by standing on her remaining leg (walker and care bed are available). An outpatient service manages her wound and prepares her medication. The caregiver performs personal hygiene, changes incontinence supplies, assists with dressing, ensures the lady receives adequate fluid intake, prepares medications, and takes care of laundry. The lady enjoys participating in small household activities, wheelchair walks, and playing cards. Night work is not required (occasionally once every two weeks). The husband also lives in the household; he does not require care, but cooking and household chores need to be done for him as well. The caregiver has a private room with a TV and private bathroom. Shops are distant and accessible by car.
