Care for an 88-year-old lady, 68 kg, 166 cm, who has Alzheimer's, depression, general weakness, arthritis, a tumor, and urinary and fecal incontinence. Her orientation in time, space, and person is significantly impaired. She sometimes confuses people and does not recognize loved ones. She has a disturbed day-night rhythm, preferring peace and privacy. Her hearing is significantly impaired, and her sight and speech are partially limited. She wears glasses and a hearing aid. Medication is prepared by the family. Walking and standing are partially limited; she requires assistance with movement and transfers. A walker, wheelchair, stairlift, and barrier-free shower are available. Assistance is needed for transfers. The lady needs help with washing, showering, intimate hygiene, hair, nail, foot, and dental care. She accepts personal hygiene without problems. She needs help with certain items of clothing when dressing. She has double incontinence and uses diapers and absorbent pads. She needs reminders and guidance during meals. It is important to regularly encourage her to drink and ensure adequate fluid intake. She needs help with organizing her day and with activation. She enjoys television, radio, music, reading, nature, the garden, and walks. The lady is kind, friendly, modest, and patient. The caregiver also handles cooking, cleaning, laundry, and supervision of medication intake. The work includes walks, physical activities, and, if possible, light gardening and flower care. The caregiver should be able to push a wheelchair uphill for approximately 100 meters. Shopping and accompanying her to doctor's appointments are handled by the family. Relatives live nearby, visit the lady regularly, and help the caregiver. The daughter and son-in-law live in their own apartment in the house. Nighttime assistance is not required, even though the lady has sleep disturbances. Shops and the bus stop are approximately a 10-minute walk away. Patience, openness, cleanliness, and the ability to establish a regular daily routine for the lady are important. Free time by arrangement.
