Care for an 81-year-old, independently living elderly lady (160 cm, 70 kg). She moves independently but is unsteady on her feet. She has dementia/Alzheimer's disease and is forgetful. She is incontinent of urine and stool, wears diapers (uses the toilet during the day), and wears protective panties at night which need to be changed during the night or early morning. Assistance is required with dressing and undressing, toileting, personal hygiene, changing incontinence products, and companionship. Within the household, fresh meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and shopping are needed. On Mondays and Fridays, she attends a day care center for 8 hours; on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, a nursing service visits for 2 hours (administers medication). Once a week, a cleaning service visits for 3 hours. Family visits on weekends. One night-time waking is required for toileting. The caregiver has a separate bathroom.

The gentleman requires complete assistance with hygiene, which is performed in bed, as well as with dressing, changing diapers, and toileting. He requires partial assistance with eating. Repositioning in bed is necessary. He can cooperate with transfers, still has strength in his hands, and can pull himself up. A profiling bed is available. The caregiver also handles cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and general household management for both spouses. The lady does not require night assistance. For the gentleman, night assistance may be necessary depending on his current condition, but not regularly. It may happen that he wishes to get up during the night. The caregiver has a private bathroom available. A car with manual transmission is available. Free time by agreement.
